Blue Morning Expressions: Polymer Clay Artist Extraordinaire

The artist behind Blue Morning Expressions  is exactly what the title implies, extraordinary.   She is a writer and artist that has been working in polymer clay for eight years.

Her shop, which is named for her bearded collie Blu Morning, has been in existence since 2004 where she relishes creating amazing finished jewelry pieces, along with intricate beads, polymer clay canes and many jother items.

Originally from Florida, she now resides in Montana where she enjoys polymer clay, bead creating, photography, sketching, drawing and a myriad of other pursuits.

I've chosen a few of her pieces to highlight here, some are polymer clay but there are a few that show off this talented artist's other endeavors.

This Orange and Green Raw Polymer Clay Cane
is one example of her
wonderful polymer clay cane work.
This gorgeous Handmade Lampwork Bead Necklace
features a focal bead by Jacqueline Marurija.

And, last but not least, Personalized Reindeer Christmas Ornament

Black Is Black

Black as night, little black dress, black as my soul, these are expressions using the color black.  The color black, when used in polymer clay as a medium sets off other colors, making them more vibrant and vital.

I have chosen some pieces made by members of the Polymer Clay Smoosher's Guild on Art Fire to highlight this.

The use of black in this pendant by Valerie's Stuff really shows off the flame pattern in this striking pendant.

And Creative Critters talented use of black for her cat sculpture brings back memories of some of my favorite kitties.

All in all, I think the color black draws our eyes to a piece of jewelry the way no other color does.

Food Miniatures In Polymer Clay

Polymer clay is a versatile medium.  I can be shaped and blended into different forms and colors. And just to show you that the clay artists of the Polymer Clay Smoosher's guild on Art Fire have a sense of humor here a few items made from polymer clay that, truly, look good enough to eat!

Pictured below is an amazing watermelon cane from Art Makers World.  From the striped rind to the tiny black seeds, it is truly representative of one of summer's favorite fruit.

These happy little Candy Corn Earrings look so realistic, I want to pop them into my mouth.  It's a good thing they come with ear wires attached, otherwise someone might mistakenly eat them!

This ribbon Candy Ornament by KaelMijoy  looks just like the real thing.  Everyone will think you've hung real ribbon candy on your tree.

This salad ring by Mystical Me Designs cracks me up.  It is so realistic, yet funny in its absurdity.  The lettuce, tomatoes and hard boiled egg are incredibly detailed and look so real.

This little grey mouse is adorable and his slice of birthday cake looks yummy, right down to what looks like a strawberry on top.

All in all, polymer clay is perfect for working up miniature food items.  It's easy to shape and sturdy enough once cured.
