Wings can mean many things to many people.  Most people think of the method of locomotion for birds and insects.  But others look upon wings in the more metaphorical sense.

Wings to me engender the picture of one's spirit in flight and at no time am I soaring higher than when I'm creating.  All I have to do is sit down at my work space and I'm off in another world.  There is no more wonderful feeling than when an idea I've been mulling over suddenly takes flight.  I've lost hours in my day working on a new piece and I'm always surprised when I happen to glance up and see that the sun is setting.

I'm sure that this happens to all artists and here are a few examples of artists from the Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild who prove that their spirits take wing when they are creating.
